Venice - La Fenice

I was very keen to see the opera house in Venice, La Fenice. It would have been wonderful to attend an opera but the opera schedule and our travel schedule did not jive. We were able to get tickets online to a concert by the symphony orchestra of the opera house which we attended tonight. La Fenice is quite the theatre and a major landmark of Venice. It was rebuilt after fires destroyed it three times. It is lavish in style, full of gilded ornamentation. I tried to get a few shots tonight to give you an idea of its golden interior. I should add that the performance was pretty good too!
