Rainy Evening in Mendoza
We have typically enjoyed pretty clear weather during our time in Argentina with a few light showers once in a while. The one exception was our last day and a half in Mendoza where in this usually arid part of the country, it poured steadily. Consequently, we kept our sightseeing to a minimum and opted for dining out at a restaurant recommended by our hotel called Azafrán. It is so nice when the name of a restaurant adds a new word to your vocabulary as azafrán means saffron. Our meal was fantastic as the pictures suggest. I know I can go a little overboard on the food photos, so I restrained myself this time and left out the little starter from the kitchen and the strawberry sorbet pallet cleansers. Another nice touch here was that the chef himself presents the main course to the table. We had NO complaints, and what a pleasant way to spend a rainy evening!
